The Royals move, making way for an Ejection Seat
Some of us can remember, the "Guest Corner" in the rear left corner of the museum. This displayed exhibits of the Royal Family, photo`s certificates and a showcase with photoalbums of the Queens visit in 1990, and of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.
On the right hand side of the museum in a small room, we had Ejectionseats, Rank Badges and a glass-showcase containing model aircraft.
After Rod brought back an original Tornado-ejectionseat complete with parachute from England, we had a problem with the lack of space to exhibit it.
The ejectionseat with pilot was planned to hang from the ceiling, showing an "Eject"! This was however not possible in the side - room.
The problem was resolved by swapping the exhibits around.
The "Guest Corner" was moved into the side room and the complete ejectionseat incl. parachute and pilot was suspended from the ceiling in the rear left of the museum next to the buccaneer cockpit.
Our thanks go to:- Bernd, Helmut, Rod, Wacky and Manfred for the professional job of hanging the ejectionseat, pilot and parachute, and to Cilly for the perfect room design.
